Gregory Wiet, MD, FAAP, FACS
ORG Ohio State University, The Title BIO Dr. Gregory Wiet has been involved in the development and validation of clinically relevant computer simulation projects since 1993 with experience in research and development of an endoscopic sinus surgery simulator and temporal bone simulator. He has been principal investigator and/or co investigator on several NIH, DOE, DOD funded interdisciplinary, multi institutional studies in these areas. Together with members of the Ohio Supercomputer Center, Biomedical Applications group he has been recognized both nationally and internationally for his expertise in this area. He maintains an active multi disciplinary research group at The Ohio State University and Ohio Supercomputer Center recently completing a large scale multi-institutional, randomized, controlled trial of temporal bone simulator training in Otolaryngology resident training. He has an active clinical practice in Pediatric Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and is intimately involved in Otolaryngology resident training. He has been a member of both national and international technology grant review boards with emphasis in medical/surgical related simulation initiatives.
