Debra Hanken Kurtz
ORG DuraSpace Title CEO BIO Debra Hanken Kurtz is the CEO for DuraSpace. She works with the DuraSpace team and Board of Directors to establish the strategic direction for DuraSpace over the coming years in the rapidly evolving landscape of digital research and scholarship. Previously, Kurtz was the Executive Director of the Texas Digital Library (TDL), a consortium of 21 academic libraries in the state of Texas that work together to support greater access to the collections of academic institutions in the state. She participates in working and planning groups for the Digital Preservation Network (DPN) and SHared Access Research Ecosystem (SHARE). In previous positions, she provided leadership and direction for digital collections, public websites, and early planning efforts for institutional repositories at both Duke University and UNC Chapel Hill Libraries. She was an active partner within the Triangle Research Libraries Network and has been a voice for Kuali OLE, an open-source integrated library system built by and for academic and research libraries.
