ORG Temple University Title Assistant Vice President BIO Charles Edamala is the Assistant Vice President for Technical Services in Temple University’s Computer Services. He is directly responsible for the University’s Enterprise Identity and Access Management Office, the Enterprise ellucian Banner, Portal and Mobile teams, the Web and Media team, as well as other middleware/integration development teams. As a whole, these groups are responsible for mission critical systems such as Drupal, Banner, identity management, federated and campus authentication systems. His teams work with and support key operational functions in the University. Charley evaluates technology, architects solutions, and formulates strategic technology plans to acquire and administer centrally maintained systems. Charley has an engineering and management background, holding a Bachelors of Engineering in Electronics Engineering a Masters in CIS in Management Information Systems. Charley joined Temple as a Systems Administrator in 1996, advancing through the ranks and holding positions of greater leadership and managerial responsibility. He is passionate about creating simple and fun interfaces to accomplish tasks that could be complex and running on diverse systems. He is also passionate about educating and inspiring teams to deliver excellent outcomes in collegial devops-type environments. He is committed to STEM education and would love to see Computer Science treated as a science from K through College in the US, giving our kids a wider set of tools to be creative and successful in their careers, and continuing to make our country prosperous into the future. Charley is an avid reader and writer, aspiring to be an author one day. Life keeps interfering with this last goal.
