ORG University of Michigan - Ann Arbor Title Senior Network Architect BIO Roy Hockett is the Senior Network Architect in Information Technology Services at the University of Michigan. He works with researchers on campus to develop customized network services to facilitate data-intensive research and education, while also providing the reliability needed for day-to-day operation. He has been designing and implementing networks at the University of Michigan for more than 20 years, engineering numerous transitions through different networking technologies, protocols and topologies. He engineered the Atlas Great Lakes Tier2 (AGLT2) network that enables UofM researchers to participate in the search for the Higgs Boson. In addition to his responsibilities at the U of M, Mr. Hockett is the technical lead for the Michigan Lambda Rail (MiLR); current participant and former chair of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for the Committee on Institutional Cooperation's (CIC) OmniPOP network. He holds a BS in Engineering Sciences Applied Mathematics from the University of Michigan.
