David Walker is an independent consultant specializing in information technology strategy for higher education. He is currently engaged in multiple projects for InCommon and Internet2, including the Internet2 NSTIC-funded Scalable Privacy Project. He has been the Campus IT Architect at UC Davis, the Director of Advanced Technology at UC's Office of the President, the Director of Technologies for the California Digital Library, the Director of Telecommunications at UC San Diego, and managed the creation of UC Irvine's campus network and World Wide Web services. He has led numerous initiatives in higher education, such as the UCTrust identity federation, UC's IT Architecture Group, and the Cloud Computing Task Force.
