Ecosystem Performance Infrastructure
Time 12/11/19 11:50AM-12:10PM
Providing end-to-end services between campuses and the cloud with a reliable, verifiable path through the R&E network ecosystem is important for the Internet2 community. Exposing backbone measurements, and allowing testing in to our network, differentiates us from commercial networks. perfSONAR, the
network measurement toolkit designed to provide federated coverage of paths, help establish end-to-end performance expectations and serve as an ad-hoc troubleshooting tool, has been available for a number of years. While many higher education institutions and connectors have perfSONAR test points available today, others do not.
This session will cover the current status of the performance infrastructure and provide insight into future support for tests at 100G and 400G, active tests for loss, testing important service provider links (including cloud services) and connector attachment points while minimizing space and power requirements and fully automating the deployment of test nodes.
