The Research and Education Networks Information Sharing and Analysis Center (REN-ISAC) serves over 620 member institutions within the higher education and research community by promoting cybersecurity operational protections and response. In this session, we will discuss the various tools and methodologies utilized within the REN-ISAC to generate, curate and distribute threat intelligence feeds to our members. Additionally, we will discuss the tools utilized to distribute actionable notifications to the broader R&E community, including notification of compromised credentials and early detection of targeted phishing attacks.
Specific technologies covered in the session will be the REN-ISAC’s Security Event System (SES) threat intelligence platform (based on the open source Collective Intelligence Framework project), compromised credentials detection and notification systems, and our early warning phishing detection, reporting and notification system.
