Science DMZ Lessons Learned from Prototype to Service to Lifecycle
Time 12/10/19 10:20AM-10:40AM
The network has been described as vital as the research instrument in some scientific workflows. Many of us have built our Science DMZ networks and will calibrate them with perfSONAR. How else can Science DMZs be measured? Are you reporting on your top Science data transfers? What if every port could act as a sensor? Can Science DMZ techniques be implemented on the campus network? This session will discuss the many lessons learned of a Science DMZ implementation including analytics including counters, packet samples, application latency, and security, automation, financial sustainability, governance around research networking.
