Mind Your Ps and Qs: Segment Routing TI-LFA

Time 12/11/19 04:00PM-04:20PM

Room Grand Ballroom D/E (5th)

Session Abstract

This talk will discuss Topology Independent Loop Free Alternatives (TI-LFA) in Segment Routing. TI-LFA provides 50 msec link and node protection during failure scenarios (similar to fast reroute in traditional MPLS networks). TI-LFA prunes connected links and adjacent nodes and calculates the post-convergence path to install backup routes. This talk will cover the theory behind TI-LFA, including using P and Q space to calculate the optimal path. Audience knowledge with segment routing is beneficial but a brief intro to SR will be provided.
