Campus as a Data Center Network Architecture
Time 12/11/19 03:20PM-03:30PM
Bandwidth utilization at institutions of higher education have been growing exponentially for many years. The advent of data-intensive science has accelerated this growth, with researchers requesting high speed connections from instruments on campus to destinations both local and remote. In order to meet these needs immediately and cost effectively, the University of Michigan is planning to use data center platforms and protocols for our next generation campus network. This session will provide an overview of the proposed architecture, outline the potential benefits and risks, and give an update on our progress so far.
