Supporting ESports Infrastructure Requirements in PA: KINBER’s Esports KESDX Service

Session Abstract
Competitive ESports is rapidly gaining popularity at colleges and universities across the country and with that comes increased infrastructure requirements to support evolving gaming needs. This session will outline how KINBER identified the need to better support the increasing Esports and gaming needs in Pennsylvania in response to community requirements from campuses and added support for Esports to its portfolio of network services. Hear lessons learned from how KINBER launched its Esports pilot program in April 2019 including how KINBER partnered with Internet2 via its Rapid Private Interconnect (RPI) service to provide connectivity in Asburn, VA to major game networks including Twitch, Riot, Blizzard, and Valve. Learn how KINBER is leveraging advanced networking technologies and solutions including science DMZ to adapt for enterprise needs in support of Esports. Hear how PA campuses across a diverse range from research universities to small liberal arts campuses and state universities have launched their unique Esports programs and are now utilizing the KINBER KESDX esports direct connection and advanced networking services to improve their competitive advantage.
