Session Abstract
The International Open House is an opportunity to hear and learn about the value national research and education networks (NRENs) and international collaboration brings to the collective efforts of supporting research and scholarship. During this session there will be poster displays, lightning talks, presentations from six organizations, as well as roundtable discussions highlighting developments, projects, case studies, and opportunities for collaboration.
Our subject-matter experts include: RAJAN PARAJULI, director of Nepal Research and Education Network (NREN) and one of the Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC)-Internet2 fellowship recipients at this year’s Global Summit; LUIS ELIECER CADENAS, executive director for RedCLARA; KHAMPHANH SITHAVONG, network engineer, system administrator, and IT manager with the IT Center for the National University of Laos, and the second NSRC-Internet2 fellowship recipient; LOURINO CHEMANE, Mozambique Research and Education Network (MoRENet) CEO at UbuntuNet Alliance for Research and Education Networking; RAMAZ KVATADZE, executive director for Georgian Research and Educational Networking Association (GRENA).
Presentations will focus on the development of the Nepal REN, the developments and science projects in Latin America, the story of Laos and the development of its NREN, a showcase on MoRENet, the EaPConnect project and its case studies. We hope that you will join us for these engaging discussions from around the world!
