Trust & Identity for Healthcare Research in GCP
Time 03/07/19 10:30AM-11:45AM
Room Capitol (M4)
Session Abstract
As researchers begin utilizing public cloud services for computing and data sharing in the healthcare and life sciences space, identity management and data security are critical. Google is partnering with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to develop a coherent Identity and Access Management (IAM) strategy for securely leveraging NIH data sets from within Google Cloud Platform (GCP.) Attendees of this session will learn how researchers at Washington University in St. Louis and other institutions are leveraging the NIH Data Commons using GCP, as well as the IAM best practices that Google has developed in partnership with the NIH. We will also discuss how these IAM practices may fit nicely into your institution’s existing IAM strategy, or may need to be implemented alongside other established trust & identity practices.
