Time 03/08/19 10:30AM-11:45AM
Room Capitol (M4)
Ransomware, phishing, and business email compromise (BEC) continue to exploit organizational credentials, which results in the exposure of institutional information and resources to nation-state actors as well as cybercriminals. Old and new exploits become weaponized and are released daily. New threats are constantly emerging. It’s difficult to cut through all the fear and hype in the headlines to understand current risks and develop appropriate risk management strategies. This session will provide participants with a better understanding of the specific impacts of global cyber-threats as they relate to research and education credentials, presenting an overview of major threat actors, malware, malicious events, and possible targets. This session can help attendees to obtain a better understanding of the current threat landscape as well as develop improved risk management strategies and identity and access management tactics to reduce risks.
