All In: Lessons from a Mass Multifactor Authentication Roll-out
Time 10/18/18 10:20AM-11:10AM
Session Abstract
In response to a wildly successful external phishing attack, Indiana University deployed Duo MFA to almost all members of the university community over the course of a year. The initiative was a massive effort, involving hundreds of IT employees and thousands of hours of staff work. While ultimately successful, there were many challenges along the way.
Participants in this fun and interactive session will get to peek behind the curtains with frank data, candid stories, and the benefit of hindsight. You will get a perspective on what worked well, what sort of worked, and what really didn’t work at all. This session will cover more than technology deployment – it will take a multi-disciplinary perspective, also covering marketing, communication, user support, and user experience.
In addition to learning the overall story of the deployment, attendees will come away from this case study with concrete, actionable advice that they can take back to their own institutions.
