Anirban MandalORG University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill Title Research Scientist BIO Anirban Mandal works as a research scientist at the Renaissance Computing Institute (RENCI) at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has extensive experience in resource provisioning, monitoring, anomaly detection, adaptation, and performance analysis of scientific workflows on distributed, networked cloud platforms. Dr. Mandal is a co-PI on the DoE Panorama project, and leads the efforts on anomaly detection and adaptation for workflows. Dr. Mandal has conducted research on scheduling scientific workflows based on performance models, and fault-tolerance for science workflows. He has also contributed to provisioning and control software for an NSF GENI testbed called ExoGENI, GENI monitoring infrastructure, and evaluation of GENI for domain science workflows. Prior to coming to RENCI, Dr. Mandal earned his PhD degree in computer science from Rice University in 2006.
