Internet2 Inclusivity (I2I) Initiative: Being a Successful IT Worker Doesn’t Mean You Have to Give Up the Banjo
Time 10/16/17 12:10PM-01:30PM
Room Pacific M
NOTE: Lunch will be available in the Pacific Concourse Foyer!
Please join us for the Internet2 Inclusivity Initiative discussion and working groups meeting. We will provide updates on the initiative (formerly framed as the Internet2 Gender Diversity Initiative), seek input on next steps and recognize the Inclusivity awardees.
We also will feature a panel on work-life integration: Being a Successful IT Worker Doesn’t Mean You Have to Give Up the Banjo. A panel will introduce the topic of work-life integration and will address how their organizations have approached the work-life integration challenge. What policies and practices does the organization engage in to create a culture that either encourages or discourages work-life integration? Retention and job satisfaction can be closely tied to the way that an organization creates a work-life integration culture. The panel will describe what has worked in their organizations and what needed to be modified and why so that we can all think about what is possible in our organizations. There will be ample time for the entire group to discuss the topic.
