Interactive Engagement Sessions
Come share your ideas in the Idea Corner: Cloud Services
Join other community members for an interactive feedback session and hear from member campuses and regionals about a pilot platform for cloud service discovery, collaboration and management. Here you will hear the latest updates to the community-led approach to cloud service validation and get to meet first hand with service providers focused on solving business challenges.
Cloudmore: A Campus and Community Pilot Platform for Cloud Service Discovery, Collaboration and Management
The community has moved from 10's of enterprise technology solutions deployed to 100's, and the number of available services is well into the 1000's. The pace of development and adoption continues to increase making the selection, vetting, contracting, subscription, integration, distribution and management of these solutions increasingly challenging. Internet2 member campuses including Boston University, California Institute of Technology, Case Western University, University of Florida, Vasser College, and others are participating in a community evaluation of a platform that may help address these issues. The Cloudmore platform can provide a framework where a campus can procure, manage, automate, consume and collaborate on IT service and "discover" services. These campuses will be in the Idea Corner to show how they are thinking of leveraging the Cloudmore platform and to discuss ideas about how the platform might address some challenges of the expanding cloud service adoption environment.
NET+ Gen2: Updated Community-led Approach to Cloud Service Validation
At the 2016 Internet2 Global Summit, the community discussed feedback from the NET+ program review as well as recommended changes and revisions to the cloud service lifecycle and service validation process. During the 2017 Global Summit, there will be an interactive session to review updates to the community's efforts to identify and validate cloud services as well as invite additional input and suggestions from attendees.
Provisional Service Showcase
Come find out information on "Provisional" services available for campus piloting and testing. This session will showcase 10 minute lightening presentations from service providers highlighting services to try. Bring your ideas and input on these services as well as let us know others that you would like to pilot.

Community VR Center
Virtual and augmented reality technologies are an important emerging space for the research and education community. It is difficult to describe the impact of these technologies without firsthand experience - seeing is believing. Visit the Community VR Center to try virtual and augmented realities for yourself, including the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Microsoft Hololens, Samsung GearVR, and Google Cardboard. In addition, experience community projects including the winner from last fall's Internet2 Hololens contest, a mixed reality dance experience from the Rochester Institute of Technology. This experience is made possible through the efforts of the University of Cincinnati Center for Simulations & Virtual Environments Research and the Internet2 Metaverse Working Group.
