An updated and expanded version of similar sessions from the 2016 Global Summit and EDUCAUSE conferences, this daylong workshop is designed for campuses who are exploring, or have embarked on, the implementation of a campus cloud strategy. Led by domain experts from the Internet2 staff and campus colleagues, the session will introduce you to the technical, legal, and risk management considerations important to evaluating and selecting cloud services for your campus. The format will include a mix of presentations and interactive elements with materials review on best practices from the hundreds of campus deployments, hands on practical exercises, and peer engagement. You will gain insights in how to structure internal campus governance, considerations for selection of cloud based products, structure cloud contracts, understand how to influence product direction of cloud providers, and more. Finally, participants will also receive an update on the Internet2 NET+ program as well as a demo and overview of the Center for Service Discovery.
