Performance Engagement and Enablement in an R&E World

Time 04/24/17 04:30PM-05:30PM

Room Meeting Room 12/13/14

Session Abstract

The R&E network space is becoming more complex and opaque. As that complexity grows, it's increasingly difficult for a researcher to understand how best to maximize their use of the network's potential. Further, it's often difficult to know who to turn to when the network isn't performing up to their expectations. This talk will focus on the efforts of both ESNet and Indiana University to help address those gaps. ESNet's performance engagement program seeks to identify researchers and their needs so that they understand the potential paths toward maximizing performance. Indiana University's IRNC NOC Performance Engagement Team is a resource available for researchers that need help troubleshooting network performance beyond their local campus domain. The speakers will provide insight into their engagement models and discuss ways in which the R&E community can work together on behalf of enabling high performance research on their networks.
