Adam SlagellORG University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign Title Chief Information Security Officer BIO Adam Slagell, CISSP, has his feet firmly planted in both security operations and research at NCSA. He is active in several NSF communities (e.g., Teragrid III or XD, the Blue Waters sustained petascale computing initiative, and the GENI federated global network testbed), where he uses his experience in threat and risk analysis to balance competing usability and security needs within collaborative security frameworks. His research focuses on concrete problems in computer security and building tools that can be used in the real world. Currently, he is co-PI on a $3,000,000 NSF award to bring many research features to production in the the Bro Intrusion Detection System.
