Removing Barriers to Data Sharing: the Research Data Alliance
Time 09/28/16 01:30PM-02:20PM
The current global research data landscape is highly fragmented by discipline, by domain, and by technology. The Research Data Alliance (RDA) works to enable data sharing across barriers by bringing together experts from academia, industry, and government around the world to create common data infrastructures. These can then be used in building data bridges that facilitate open data sharing across technologies, disciplines, and countries.
This talk will focus on the background of RDA, an overview of contributions made by both individuals and organizations to its recommendations and outputs, and the benefits realized by adopting and participating organizations.
