Session Abstract

George Washington University, recognizing the need for a cyber-trained workforce in the northern Virginia and DC area, has initiated a project to create a cyber-range. This range project leverages an SDN enabled infrastructure to enhance the student learning experience with two key network virtualization functions:
1) Enable rapid provisioning and configuration management capabilities to provide an extended suite of range exercises to the student
2) Range will enable research into the vulnerabilities and security solutions affecting SDN enabled systems.
This talk will include Donald DuRousseau from GWU who will discuss the architecture of the GWU SDN enabled cyber range and discuss potential use cases for the range and Bob Kimball, CTO Ciena to discuss new cyber opportunities enabled by SDN.
