He is the founding President and currently the Vice-President of Singapore Advanced Research and Education Network (SingAREN). He is responsible for the establishment of the 100G link with Internet2 between USA and Singapore and the development of the SingAREN Open Exchange point. He is the Chair of the Governors of Trans-EurAsia Information Network(TEIN) Cooperation center which operates the TEIN project, renamed as Asi@connect, a high speed regional network in Asia and connectivity to Europe.
