Using SDN for Pervasive Network Visibility and Increased Efficiency of BRO Clusters
Time 05/17/16 12:20PM-12:45PM
Brocade will provide a demonstration of how Software Defined Networking (SDN) can be used to create efficiencies within the research institution network infrastructure. The demonstration will show how a deeper view into the traffic seen on the network is possible by utilizing SDN capable infrastructure, applications and analytics devices typically deployed at Research Institutions. Finally, the demonstration will show how SDN can be used in conjunction with the BRO Network Security Monitor platform (both the open source version and the commercially supported Broala appliance). This integration leads to a more efficient use of the BRO Cluster by reducing the amount of traffic that needs to be inspected and in turn fewer appliances need to be deployed. The demonstration will show a software-driven, complete closed-loop real time threat mitigation system.
