Time 05/17/16 03:00PM-04:00PM
Session Abstract
With the recent release of immersive virtual reality head mounted displays like the Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear, and Google Cardboard, we are witnessing a surge of both popularity and interest in virtual reality applications. The research and education community has long been a leader in the use of virtual environments to further the academic mission, and new applications are emerging with wider access to commodity VR hardware. This session will explore tangible, existing applications of virtual and augmented reality in our community, including a glimpse into the future Metaverse of networked virtual reality worlds.
