OpenID Connect Workshop (Feb 22-23, 2016)
Colorado State University Denver Center - 475 17th St, Suite 100, Denver, CO - Executive Boardroom
About the meeting
InCommon and Internet2 will host a two-day hands-on workshop on OpenID Connect, February 22-23 in Denver, Colorado. The session will be led by Roland Hedberg and Rebecka Gulliksson of Umeå University, Sweden. Roland is a world-renowned expert in OpenID Connect and a senior architect in the Identity and Access Management community. These workshops are jointly sponsored by Apereo.
The workshop will benefit SAML architects and others who want significant technical exposure to OpenID Connect, which is an emerging standard and will play a role in Internet-scale authentication and authorization. Here is what you can expect to gain from the workshop:
- Knowledge of the OpenID Connect standards
- Experience working with OpenID Connect
- An understanding of the challenges of implementing this standard alongside standards already in use
- Learn how you might contribute to both architectural discussions and standards-setting
This is one of two back-to-back workshops (content is the same, so you need come to just one). Both will take place at the Colorado State University Denver Center, in downtown Denver, Colorado. The workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day, and lunch and refreshments will be served each day.
Registration is $300 for Internet2 Members, InCommon Participants and International MoU Partners, $400 for Non-Members.
The deadline to register is Friday, February 12, 2016 and registration is limited to 20 attendees.
Roland Hedberg is senior researcher at ICT Services and System Development (ITS), Umeå University, Sweden. His main research areas includes distributed authorization, authentication service infrastructure, and identity management. He is the leader for one the subtasks (Identity and Trust Management) within the GEANT4 project. Presently he spends most of his time building tools for protocol conformance testing of SAML2 and OpenID Connect implementations.
Rebecka Gulliksson is a software developer at ICT Services and System Development (ITS), Umeå University, Sweden. Currently she is connecting anything and everything across protocol boundaries.
