Make End to End Multi-Domain, Multi-Vendor Orchestration Possible

Time 10/05/15 03:20PM-03:45PM

Room Exhibitor Level Foyer

Session Abstract

As the lines between the network, storage and compute blur, SDN and NFV orchestration becomes the lynchpin that solves the problem of operationalizing these technologies in legacy networks by delivering the framework, templates and processes essential for stitching together virtual and physical resources, as well as automating and dynamically configuring these resources across multiple network domains, technologies and vendor platforms.

The R&E community has pioneered new network architectures with a dependency on multi-domain, multi-vendor networks to support leading research projects worldwide. However, monolithic network technology silos still exist for different technology and vender domains creating an environment of disconnected control and orchestration of physical and virtual resources.

In this community showcase, Ciena demonstrates how you can eliminate the traditional network technology silos by converging software functions, enabling seamless service delivery across both the physical and virtual domains.
· Orchestrate existing SDN Controllers (Openflow, OpenDaylight, ..etc) and management platforms (cloud managers, network managers, element managers…) as one environment
· Deploy end-to-end services across hardware and software domains combining NFV with traditional hardware based appliances
· Achieve the “single pain-of-glass” view to help break down management silos and enables network operators to provision and manage services across networks comprised of both legacy and new SDN/NFV-enabled components.
