Let's Get Cooking: Piloting the Cloud Service Cookbook

Time 10/06/15 11:45AM-12:10PM

Room Room 25-C

Session Abstract

Implementing cloud services can be very beneficial to an organization. It can save resources, but it can also end up costing more resources if not done well. Initiatives like Net+ and TIER are helping both universities and vendors get on the same page for successful, efficient cloud service integrations. The member schools of the CIC are also helping by creating the Cloud Service Cookbook: a set of best practices for schools and vendors to make cloud service roll-outs easy, fast, and scalable.

The CIC has finished the first version of the cookbook, and now it's time to put it to the test. The finished product is being piloted by a vendor, helping with the vendor's cloud service framework and also helping the cookbook authors see where further improvements can be made. In this session, learn about the finished cookbook and how it can help you. We'll show the final product, talk about the vendor pilot process so far, and discuss how we hope these best practices can benefit Net+ and TIER.
