Time 10/06/15 02:00PM-02:50PM
Room Room 25-B
Globus is fast becoming the preferred service for moving and sharing research data among R&E institutions using a wide variety of HPC and campus computing resources. With the recent release of data publication and discovery capabilities, Globus now provides useful tools for managing data at every stage of the research lifecycle. Further, recent enhancements enable users to access cloud storage resources such as Amazon S3 via the Globus service and to easily move and share data among these resources. When combined with the Science DMZ approach being adopted by many institution, Globus allows campus IT providers to deliver robust, high performance data management services that fully exploit the available advanced networking capabilities. In this session, we will describe Globus functionality and use cases from both an end-user and provider perspective, and will illustrate the ease with which Globus services may be deployed on, and integrated with existing campus IT infrastructure.
