Session Abstract
In June 2014, OARnet and the State of Ohio announced an agreement to have OARnet provide the network backbone for the State and its various agencies. Ensuring that State Agency offices were able to make effective use of their new OARnet connections required a full deployment of Quality of service (aka DiffServ) on the OARnet backbone.
The new QOS configuration had to support a routed IP service offering both commodity and Internet2 connectivity along with Layer-III VRF's and Layer-II pseudowire circuits.
Additionally, we had to ensure that our customers were not required to make any change to their use of the network.
This presentation will discuss how these challenges were addressed and will present the final design of the DiffServ configuration as an practical case study for our peers to adapt to their own needs.
