Session Abstract
I review the progress and issues in SDN-driven provisioning optimal path selection for very large data flows across complex networks, being developed by members of the CMS and ATLAS experiments at the LHC in the context of the Advanced Network Services for experiments project. Methods for state of the art throughput, coupling OSCARS and NSI virtual circuits to the mainstream data transfer and management applications of the experiments, and an Openflow controller targeting mapping flows to optimal paths, as well as the work towards consistent operations between global collaborations of large scale network users and major R&E network providers will be discussed.
