Data intensive Processing at Argonne

Session Abstract

Argonne research in big data is motivated by the demands of challenging science projects in which
massive data promises new discoveries but only if associated bookkeeping and cognitive loads can be greatly reduced. To this end, we investigate: protocols and services for high-speed, reliable, and secure wide area transfer; software-as-a-service solutions
to data sharing, publication, and discovery; mechanisms and software for rapid development and delivery of cloud-based, elastic computational services; architecture and applications of “discovery engines” for community analysis of rapidly evolving data and
related simulation models; and modeling and analysis of large-scale distributed systems.
