Increasing the Value of InCommon Participation: Using COmanage to Support your Researchers

Time 10/30/14 10:30AM-11:15AM

Room White River Ballroom G-H-I

Session Abstract

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has deployed COmanage along with
other collaboration tools including a wiki and list manager to create
a collaboration management platform in support of the gravitational
wave astronomy community. We will explain how COmanage allows hundreds
of scientists from both InCommon institutions and institutions around
the world to quickly register and gain access to the tools they need
to streamline collaboration. We will discuss how InCommon's
participation in eduGAIN has made it possible for scientists from all
around the world to meet at the platform to collaborate. Recently the
Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO) project has
integrated one of its science domain applications, the Gravitational
Wave Candidate Event Database (GraceDB) with the platform to manage
access for its collaborators to its data. We will discuss the steps
necessary for integrating science domain applications with the
platform and how COmanage is used to control access to the
