ICTBioMed: Using OpenStack, perfSONAR, and a Science Gateway to Connect HPC Resources
Time 10/29/14 01:30PM-02:15PM
Session Abstract
ICTBioMed is a consortium of HPC centers working to build a platform that can support international teams engaged in data-intensive scientific research. The consortium has identified several challenges that must be addressed to enable intercontinental collaborations. To support planning and the sharing, of massive data sets, the consortium will deploy advanced network monitoring and performance tools and establish optimal network paths across National Research and Education Networks. To provide access to the diverse resources at the different centers, the consortium is employing standard and customized OpenStack APIs. Finally, to engage international teams of researchers, ICTBioMed plans to deploy proven science gateways. A panel with ICTBioMed representatives will discuss progress to date and the challenges ahead.
