New Crypto 101
Time 10/30/14 08:30AM-09:15AM
A variety of recent revelations (such as the Snowden disclosures and high profile SSL/TLS vulnerabilities) have increased the need for all network engineers and system architects to understand at least basic cryptographic concepts -- and emerging best practices.
This session will briefly introduce and explain four cutting edge crypto topics that are currently much in debate within the technical community: strict transport security/always on SSL/TLS, opportunistic encryption, forward secrecy, and elliptic curve cryptography.
At the conclusion of this session, attendees will understand these concepts and why they're important to the community, and the steps that they should be taking with their sites to improve the quality of the cryptography they deploy.
