Executive Track: TIER Is Here (Invitation Only)
Time 04/08/14 01:15PM-02:00PM
Room Plaza Ballroom F
The time has passed where institutions can continue to address identity management challenges by deploying an alphabet soup of disparate, disconnected, open source components or incomplete and expensive commercial identity management services. Trust and Identity have gone global, with over 7.5 million accounts now federated via Internet2’s InCommon. Our foundational work in this area must now move to a new phase to support the fundamental changes happening across the higher education community. How should the Internet2 community move beyond status quo and address the exploding demand?
Melissa Woo, Vice Provost for Information Services and Chief Information Officer at University of Oregon, will provide an overview of the expanded role of the TIER (Trusted Identity in Education and Research) Program Advisory Group and facilitate the session, joined by Steve Zoppi, Associate VP for Service Integration and Architecture, and Internet2 member CIOs Eric Denna (University of Utah) and Kelli Trosvig (University of Washington), fresh from a community CIO discussion about proposed solutions.
