New Era in Latin American and Caribbean R&E Networking: Projects & Infrastructure Developments
Session Abstract
The Internet2 organization and members together with Latin American and Caribbean colleagues have many collaborative research & education networking projects underway. These include support for improved infrastructure on the Caribbean Knowledge Learning Network (CKLN), redCLARA supported application, access to high energy physics tier-2 centers in Brazil, connectivity to astronomy projects in Chile and Argentina, cross-boarder 10G collaborative science between Mexico and the US as well as implementation of NET+ services in Colombia. There are many other shared events in the cultural and medical areas, and discussions underway for extending shared services. This session will highlight activities and plans for an exciting future between Internet2 and the many NRENs of Latin America.
