Time 07/15/14 09:30AM-10:00AM
The Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF, esgf.org) is an international collaboration for the software that powers most global climate change research, notably assessments by the International Panel on Climate Change. Through ESGF, scientists are able to analyze general circulation models in a systematic fashion, a process that serves to facilitate model improvement. Virtually the entire international climate modeling community has participated in Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP) since its inception. The Coupled Model Intercomparison Project, phase 6, (CMIP6) is now underway in preparations for the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report.
