Building High-Performance Clouds for Data-Intensive Bioinformatics
Time 07/17/13 02:20PM-02:35PM
Data-driven science projects require a combination of traditional batch computation, as well as interactive services, making these projects ideal users of cloud systems. In the DOE KBase project, we have deployed services across distributed sites, both using a private cloud and traditional cluster resources. In this talk, I will describe challenges we have addressed in supporting intensive workloads on cloud platforms, as well as our plans to improve the capabilities and performance of our private cloud platform for wide area data movement and I/O bound tasks.
