Frederick BlumeORG UNAVCO Title Sr. Project Manager BIO A refugee of the oil & gas industry, Freddy Blume is now the head of UNAVCO's Development and Testing program. Having done research in Himalayan tectonics for 10 years at the University of Colorado, he came to UNAVCO in 2003 to work on the EarthScope "PBO Nucleus" project which consolidated several independently constructed geodetic networks into a single entity. For the past two years I've been working on evaluating and developing new GPS, GNSS, data communication, and power system technologies on behalf of the UNAVCO Community as well as conducting field research in Chile and Argentina following the great Maule, Chile Earthquake in 2010. Before doing his PhD at the University of Colorado he earned a BS in Civil Engineering at Princeton and and MS in Exploration Geophysics at Stanford.
