Molly TeasORG US Department of State Title BIO Dr. Teas provides strategic council and advice to the Assistant Secretary for South & Central Asian Affairs on education issues. Her work with India is focused on identifying and implementing new strategies to promote education cooperation with the U.S.. This has included leading the preparation of the 2011 US-India Education Summit, 2012 and 2013 Higher Education Dialogues, creating the Passport to India initiative, that is increasing opportunities for American students in India through new public-private partnerships, and leading efforts to involve US community colleges in addressing education and workforce needs in India. Prior to joining the State Department, Dr. Teas was Director of Education at the Millennium Challenge Corporation where she spearheaded efforts to improve economic growth through education. Prior to MCC, as a Executive Director at the International Council for Science, Dr. Teas led efforts to improve science education in developing countries and prior to that, she was an Education Specialist at the World Bank. Dr. Teas was a Peace Corps volunteer in Nepal where she was a science teacher, and holds degrees from Lawrence University, the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
