Science on a Sphere: Earth's Crust/Tour of Solar System
Time 04/23/13 04:30PM-05:30PM
Session Abstract
Using NOAA's Science on a Sphere (SoS) for graphic representations of earth data, Beth Russell will give 2 brief talks on:
- Earth's Crust: Join us for a geological history of the Earth starting 600 million years ago. Once at present day, the impacts of our constantly changing crust are shown on Science On a Sphere through earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanoes. (4:30-5:00)
- Tour of Solar System: Take a tour of the whole solar system in just thirty minutes on Science On a Sphere! Join us as we travel 3,670,050,000 miles from the Sun all the way to Pluto. Stops include the sun, the planets, a few moons, and even an asteroid. (5:00-5:30)
Time is reserved at the end of each talk for questions. Movies on other related topics will be displayed at other hours; please check the online description of these materials at: http://events.internet2.edu/SoS-demos/
