Expanding Media Contents Distribution and Sharing Services

Session Abstract
In this BoF session, we aim to discuss the progress, advancements and future work necessary to expand and further the fields of relatively low cost solutions in real-time media contents distribution and sharing platforms.
Topics to be discussed include, but are not limited to:
The application of computer supported collaborative work (CSCW) using visual and moving images in a wide range of practices (e.g. filmmaking, education, medicine, public planning, etc.)
New areas of DVTS implementation - 64bit architecture, MAC OS, HD cameras, etc. UMECOT (Universal Media Expression, Collaboration and Organization Tool) Collaborative and co-located content creation through the use of distributed touch-based interfaces Digital Signage in ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) Media Asset sharing as a social platform
We will discuss projects and experiments we have conducted in the hopes that a fruitful discussion and idea sharing session amongst interested participants, practitioners and peers can be achieved. Not only will media expression tools be discussed, but participants will also have a an opportunity to see the research in action through live demos.
