Monitoring and Protecting Internet Routes with BGPmon and ROVER
Time 01/13/13 08:30AM-10:00AM
This tutorial will focus on how to provide BGP routing data to both the research and operations communities. The availability of BGP data has played an essential role in both network operations and network research. In this tutorial, we show how research network data (such as that from APAN, I2, and ESnet) can play an important role in this research and show how research network operators can benefit from the monitoring and security tools. We specifically explore how to both provide data and receive data from the Oregon RouteViews/ColoState BGPmon collection system and show how operators can make use of data services such as ROVER to provide security related alarms and notices.
