Connecting Researchers: Experiences Leveraging Advanced e-Infrastructure and 4G Wireless

Time 04/24/12 01:15PM-02:30PM

We do not host flash-based video files on our servers anymore. Please contact Web Support for further details about netcast videos.

Session Abstract

Advanced terrestrial networks are the cornerstone of research and education collaboration, but equally important are e-infrastrure elements that leverage the network and wireless technologies to expand its reach. This session will present two important views on this topic.

Regarding privileged access to 4G for higher education and research: The principles of new ways of learning and working require changes in network planning. The time and place of the demand varies: during one day a large group of students work together at a certain location but the next day that location can be entirely different. As a result, network managers face challenges on network coverage, both inside and outside of their institution
