Strategies for Building Communities Within and Across R&E Networks
Time 04/25/12 10:30AM-11:45AM
In addition to the robust and reliable network infrastructure R&E networks provide to a diverse set of member institutions, these networking organizations also share a common goal to build and foster communities of practice within their respective member communities as well as across R&E networking communities. Community building comes in many forms. This panel discussion among leaders of regional networks will explore the many facets of community building for their organizations. An interactive discussion among the panelists will focus on:
1) Community building forums within an R&E network.
2) The benefits of R&E Networks building community around value-added services offerings which can attract and retain members by providing strategic advantages.
3) Community development across memberships and through consortium efforts at the regional and national level such as The Quilt, StateNets, Internet2 and US UCAN.
4) Value-add to our organizations and membership that is provided through collaboration.
