The Evolution of R&E Cyber-Infrastructure in West Virginia

Session Abstract

Over the past two years, West Virginia has experienced a radical evolution, if not revolution, in its R&E cyberinfrastructure. Through a regional collaboration involving West Virginia University (WVU), Marshall University, the West Virginia Network for Educational Telecomputing (WVNET), the Three Rivers Optical eXchange (3ROX), the National Energy Technology Center (NETL), NOAA and the National Radio Astronomy Observatory at Green Bank, WV (NRAO), research networking in West Virginia is being transformed into a world class infrastructure. The results of this collaborative effort include Marshall University
