K-12 Ramifications for Global Partnerships through the Internet2 Network
Time 10/03/12 03:00PM-04:00PM
Explore how innovative partnerships among organizations devoted to K-12 education, technology, and international affairs collaborate to enhance global learning. MAGPI, the Allegheny Intermediate Unit 3 / AlleghenyCONNECT, and World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh representatives share the story of their ongoing partnership, which has resulted in over 40 video conference events including International Student Summits, Youth Forums, and other community partner-focused events which connect students via video conference both within the United States and around the world. This partnership has revolutionized the education outreach program accessibly for schools affected by budget cuts as well as schools in remote areas. Additionally, these programs have built bridges between schools locally and internationally. This session will include an interactive presentation, discussion, and brainstorming session to explore potential creative partnership ideas.
