LHCONE Research Data Flows - L2 vs. L3
Time 01/25/12 11:04AM-11:24AM
Session Abstract
Using a balanced L3 solution to provide connectivity to the LHCONE network will allow LHC community more flexibility for serving LHC ATLAS data to other researchers. Sites having multiple paths to the LHCNet and LHCONE network are able to better balance and control traffic flows, using techniques such as Optimized Edge routing (OER) and Performance Routing (PfR). LHCONE is evolving in its architecture. The current the basis is a global L2 domain. We propose to augment the current LHCONE design with more L3 capabilities.
